Itinerary

FULL DAY: LA PAZ – DEATH ROUTE.

First, we pick you up from your hotel, prepared with everything you need to start this adventure from the city of La Paz, which is located at an altitude of 3600 meters above sea level to the foot of the Andes Mountain Range or Cordillera Real, exactly up to the top that is at 4700 m.a.s.l. Also, outside the city, you will appreciate the flora and fauna of the desert plateau and the snow-capped mountains of the Cordillera Real.

Likewise, we descend quickly along a winding paved road, between mountain peaks, grazing llamas, alpacas and small towns. We stop to have a drink, take photos and rest along the way. Likewise, we will take some time to contemplate the landscape with increasingly greener vegetation while we prepare for the next spectacular section. After a snack, we descend a short undulating section of the trail, into the jungle itself, and into the most challenging part of the journey. However, this infamously narrow mountain road descends 2,000 m, more. Likewise, with sheer drops of over 1,000 m to our left and huge rock ledges and waterfalls to our right, through mist, low cloud and dust.

Likewise, you can safely enjoy some of the most spectacular and beautiful landscapes in South America as you go along the way. As we get closer to the end of the journey, it gets warmer and warmer. By the time you reach the bottom of Yolosa, you’ll be tired, hot, dirty, and elated. Also, just below the town of Yolosa, we headed to the La Senda Verde Animal Shelter. Finally, here, we can enjoy a buffet lunch, take in the magnificent scenery, spend some time relaxing with a cool drink, and meet the rescued animals.
