DESCRIPTION

The Huayna Potosí snow-capped mountain, at 6088 m.a.s.l., is part of the Cordillera Real de los Andes, it is considered by the inhabitants of the city of El Alto, as its protector and guardian, becoming the most representative snow-capped mountain of this city. The Huayna Potosí is one of the most accessible snow-capped mountains, for years it has been climbed by hundreds of tourists, because experience is not required, but rather a good physical condition, which is essential for this activity.

Huayna Potosi Climb surrounded by high mountains, is undoubtedly one of the most popular climbing tours in Bolivia. Itinerary

DAY 1: LA PAZ – LAGUNA ZONGO – BASE CAMP.

First, we will start the day by picking you up from your accommodation, and then leave La Paz very early towards the base camp of the majestic snow-capped Huayna Potosí. Likewise, along the way we will enter the Milluni Valley, where we will have fascinating views of the snow-capped mountain and have lunch. In addition, an hour away, we will arrive at Laguna Zongo (4850 m.a.s.l.). Also, we will have a small ice climbing practice for about 1 hour. Then we return to our base camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: ZONGO LAGOON – HIGH CAMP.

Very early in the morning, after breakfast, we organize our material that will be loaded with the help of our porters from the area to the high camp, which is ascending a mountainside until we reach Camp of the Rocks, Campo high a small refuge (5135 m.a.s.l.). Finally, we will have dinner and sleep until midnight.

DAY 3: HIGH CAMP – SUMMIT – LA PAZ

Our day begins by waking up at midnight, to be able to have breakfast and then start the ascent to the top of Huayna Potosí. Likewise, the ascent lasts between 4 and 7 hours approx. up to 5500 m.a.s.l. From this point we climb a 50 m wall with an incline of 55° to 60°. Likewise, we will reach a plain and can continue to reach the top of Huayna Potosi 6088 m.a.s.l. Afterwards, we go down to Campo Alto for 2 hours, where the vehicle will be waiting for us to take us back to La Paz.
