ILLIMANI CLIMBING 4D – BOLIVIA MOUNTAIN
DESCRIPTION
Illimani Bolivia, is the second-largest mountain in the Cordillera Real, whose name comes from the Aymara language which means “Golden Water”, which has 5 peaks, the South peak at 6,462 meters above sea level which is the highest, the Central peak at 6,280 m.a.s.l., North peak or Paris peak at 6,043 m.a.s.l., Indio peak at 6,287 m.a.s.l. and Laika Khollu peak 6,159 m.a.s.l.

In the Illimani climbing, we will be able to ascend to this peak that has 6460 meters above sea level, is one of the imposing snow-capped mountains that can be seen in the distance from La Paz. It is covered with large glaciers and has 4 peaks that rise above 6,000 meters above sea level. Likewise, it is an important destination for the practice of adventure tourism. In addition, strong waterfalls can be seen from its three peaks, which can be seen from La Paz. Likewise, forming rivers and ravines in their passage that give it a divine characteristic.
Ascending this mountain, in addition to being in good physical condition, requires prior acclimatization. The difficulty depends on the state of the snow or ice. If hard ice occurs, it can be quite dangerous. If there is a good layer of seasonal snow, the difficulty decreases considerably, making transit much safer.

Itinerary
DAY 1: LA PAZ – PINAYA.
First, we start the day by picking you up from your accommodation center at 09:00 (only downtown hotels). Then, we go in private transport to Pinaya 4000 meters above sea level, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we begin our 3-hour trek to Base Camp at 4,500 m.a.s.l. along a very accessible path. Finally, here our guide sets up the tent and prepares dinner and then we rest.
DAY 2: PINAYA – NEST OF CONDORS.
First, we start the day at 08:00 with a nutritious breakfast, after 1 hour and a half we will go to Campo Alto 5500 m.a.s.l, called “Condors Nest” 6 hours of walking approx. Then, by a rocky path, we will arrive at noon, to then have lunch and rest for 1 hour at a height of 5000 m.a.s.l. Finally, we continue the ascent to Nido de Cóndores, we will arrive at approximately 4:00 p.m.
DAY 3: NEST OF CONDORS – ILLIMANI.
We start very early at 01:00 with breakfast, and around 02:00 we head towards the top of Illimani, we make the ascent in 6 hours, attached to the guide with a rope, the first part is done by an edge whose inclination is 45°. Then we continue along a varied path between plains and climbs with a 40° incline, very close to the summit, at a height of 6000 m.a.s.l. there is a wall with a 55° incline whose length is 100 meters. Likewise, once at the top, at 6490 m.a.s.l, we rest appreciating the impressive landscape of the Andes Mountains. Later, we will return to the High Camp arriving at this at 11:00, where we have lunch and after 1 hour we descend towards the base camp, and continue the walk until we reach the town of Pinaya.
DAY 4: BASE CAMP – LA PAZ.
This day begins at 08:00 with breakfast, to then begin the return in private transport to La Paz, arriving at your respective hotel around noon.
