Itinerary

DAY 1. DEPARTURE FROM COCHABAMBA – INCALLAJTA – TOTORA.

We start from Cochabamba in the morning towards the High Valley. We will skirt the Laguna Angostura and make a brief stop at the Main Square of the colonial town of Tarata, to then continue through the picturesque Valley of Pocona, later, Machajmarka until, finally, arriving at the archaeological complex of Incallajta. It was built in 1470 by the Inca Tupac Yupanqui and later enlarged by his son Wayna Kapac. In fact, it is the largest and most representative Inca complex in all of Collasuyo, whose main characteristic is its monumental architecture. Likewise, the central attraction is the building called “Kallanka”. However, it is a structure that has the largest free roof of pre-Columbian architecture. Also, the Astronomical Tower, and the Bath of the Ñustas among other attractions. Finally, in the afternoon we will continue the trip to Totora.

DAY 2. TOTORA – COCHABAMBA.

On this second day after a nutritious breakfast, we will have an extensive walk through the streets of the small colonial city of Totora and an interesting visit to a “chichería” where you will learn how the popular “corn beer” better known as “chicha”. Then we embark towards the towns and attractions of the Alto Valley, such as: Punata, Arani, Cliza, visit a ceramic factory and Tarara. Then we return to Cochabamba.
