Itinerary
Pick up around 9:00am from your accommodation (or 2:00pm if you want to go in the afternoon). We board our transportation and head first to the town of San Lorenzo, located 15 km outside of Tarija. This is a beautiful colonial town that still preserves the charm of the old days. We will spend approximately half an hour exploring the main square with the church and the local market before moving on to the next stop, Coimata and Tomatitas. These are popular destinations for Bolivians due to their favorable position near the Cordillera de Sama Biological Reserve in a charming rocky valley full of streams, natural pools, and a lake, where the locals fish for typical seafood of the region (crabs and fish that is fried and served with white corn), the true pride of the area. You can also try the delicious crabs while you are there. Before returning to Tarija we will also stop at San Jacinto, known for its dam and the resulting artificial lake. We will arrive in Tarija around 1:00pm (or 6:00pm for the afternoon tours).
