This is our 5-day pampas and madidi combo tour. We will visit the fascinating Madidi National Park where you can learn how wonderful the Bolivian jungle is, accompanied by many species of flora and fauna where you will be in direct contact with nature and thus be able to enjoy your stay in Madidi.
DESCRIPTION MADIDI PAMPAS TOUR
Madidi pampas tour offers an amazing tour through the Bolivian jungle.
Bolivia is a country of multiple ecosystems. Its geography encompasses lakes and lagoons, rivers, mountains, valleys, plains and Amazonian forests. Likewise, Pampas Madidi, a highly recommended tourist destination for those who love nature and within it ecotourism, in this 5-day adventure you can be in direct contact with the environment and enjoy these places to the fullest.
Madidi National Park is managed by the National Service of Protected Areas, better known as SERNAP.
It is considered one of the most biodiverse protected areas in the world, since it has a great variety of ecosystems and a varied altitudinal gradient, which has allowed the development of a wide variety of species of wild plants and animals.
A paradise in the Bolivian Amazon is Pampas del Yacuma. It is very rich in its biodiversity, it is a high priority region for the conservation of species.

Itinerary
DAY 1. RURRENABAQUE – MADIDI NATIONAL PARK
We start the morning very early and then head towards the town of San Buenaventura, where we will visit the main office of the Madidi National Park, to register, which is one of the parks with the greatest biodiversity in the world.
The vehicle trip on the route between San Buenaventura and Tumupasa can last up to 3 hours, as we will have stops to see some migratory birds, in addition to the red-bellied macaw.
There is also the possibility of sighting sloths, capybaras or honeyeaters crossing the road.
Arrival at the Ecolodge, accommodation in your private cabin with private bathroom and we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
After lunch, we will begin a walk along the “Poroto Waiq’u” trail, where with a little luck you can see capuchin monkeys, tamarinds and the starry corcovado, star quail. We will return to the lodge for dinner.
If you wish, you can share a moment with your Uchupiamonas hosts and learn about their experiences, their stories, local traditions and how their people San José de Uchupiamonas has lived in harmony with nature for more than 400 years.
DAY 2. MADIDI NATIONAL PARK
After a nutritious breakfast in the morning, we will begin a 3-4 hour guided walk along the “Sambu” trail, where you can observe the green macaw, the solitary eagle, the striped antbird and there is always the possibility of seeing spider monkeys or tamarind monkeys. With a little more luck we could meet a tapir or see mammal tracks, in addition to observing the giant trees that speak of the age of the forest. We arrived at the Wairapata natural observatory to enjoy the panoramic view of the mountains, in addition to appreciating the coloration of the forest by the flowers and trees and enjoying the abundance of bird songs. From this observatory you can observe species of birds in flight. Lunch at the Ecolodge.
After a rest, we will walk along the “Millennium” trail where you can see the beautiful White-crested Spadebill and the White-bellied Pygmy Tyrant. Dinner at the Ecolodge. Afterwards, if you wish, you can walk in search of night owls or animals such as giant armadillos.
DAY 3. RURRENABAQUE – SANTA ROSA DEL YACUMA
We start the day with a good breakfast, we will descend along the “Ecological Path” of San José de Uchupiamonas until we reach the Yariapo stream, where you can enjoy a dip.
This walk into the interior of Madidi National Park will give you the chance to see peccaries, capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys among other mammals, and enjoy the abundance and diversity of birds that live at lower altitudes as large or small mixed flocks. The guide will share with you the ancestral stories of the meanings of the streams. Lunch at the ecolodge, after lunch we will venture to visit lowlands. A visit to “Parabal” will give us greater opportunities to see larger mammals. After the traditional dinner, you can walk in search of land animals, monkeys and nocturnal insects.
DAY 4. RURRENABAQUE – PAMPAS
We will get up early to walk the “Cakiawaca” trail along the edge of the Serranía towards the north of the Madidi National Park, where you can see the endemic Yungas Musketeer (Phyllomyias weedeni) and the Tuberous Curassow (Mitu tuberosum) in On this route there is a great chance of seeing tapirs or having surprising encounters with rarer animals.
On the way back we will appreciate the beautiful sunrise and enjoy the concert of sounds of animals, birds and insects that announce the beginning of a new day. Return to the hostel to have breakfast in the dining room and prepare for the departure to Rurrenabaque. During the trip, you may encounter some of the boreal or southern migrants. After a brief stop, we will transfer to the Pampas of Yacuma. Upon arrival we will settle in our private cabins with private bathrooms.
After a delicious traditional lunch, we will have a boat ride on the Yacuma River where there are great chances of seeing alligators, capybaras, turtles and many species of birds. Return to the hostel for dinner.
At night we will have a night boat tour along the Yacuma River where we will see capybaras, nocturnal birds and a large number of bright alligator eyes.
DAY 5. RURRENABAQUE
Our last day in Pampas de Madidi we will have a good breakfast and then navigate the Yacuma River, which will give us great opportunities to observe other mammals. After lunch, we return to Rurrenabaque, where we arrive at approximately 17:00.
