Itinerary

DAY 1:

The excursion will begin at 9:00am, when we go from Rurrenabaque to the Pampa area, traveling by minibus. The trip will last approximately three hours, and upon arrival we will go directly to Caracoles, our ecological home that is located within the Yacuma River Municipal Reserve. There will be a tasty lunch to enjoy, as well as some free time to rest in the outdoor hammocks or settle into your cabins.

We will jump aboard the boat in the afternoon and take a short trip down the river to see the wildlife. The flourishing flora and vegetation can be easily seen along the coast and dry lands as we joyfully navigate. If you travel during the dry season, you can be sure to see caimans, anacondas, turtles, capybaras, pink dolphins, different types of monkeys, and countless species of birds. During the rainy season, it is more difficult to find caimans, anacondas, and capybaras.

DAY 2:

The fresh morning air is perfect for starting the day early. We will do a morning walk of 3 to 4 hours in the Pampa to look for the silent anacondas and caimans. As you walk, take time to breathe in the wonders of nature and listen to the sounds of wild creatures as they rejoice in their day.
After the walk, we will return to our home for lunch and to sit and relax for a while. In the afternoon, we will navigate the Yacuma River, fish for piranhas the way local people catch them, and enjoy a fun swim with the endangered pink dolphins. Swimming with these playful creatures is sure to be the highlight of your day. After dinner, there will be a night walk and, with flashlights in hand, you will be able to observe the bright flash of the eyes of caimans, as well as observe the other nocturnal animals.

DAY 3:

On the final morning, you will once again wake up to the sounds of the jungle as the early morning light draws in the early risers. After breakfast, for our final tour, we will navigate the Yacuma River to a place where you can see the yellow squirrel monkeys. Get a chance to watch these cute creatures playfully maneuver through the trees and approach the water’s edge for a drink. After lunch, we say goodbye to our staff and returned by minibus to Rurrenabaque, where we will arrive at approximately 5:00 pm.
