DAY 1: UYUNI – COLCHANI – ISLA INCAHUASI

Our journey begins at 10:30 a.m. with an exciting start aboard a rugged Toyota 4×4 off-road vehicle. We head eagerly towards our first destination: the evocative Train Cemetery in Bolivia (where old locomotives and carriages rest, recounting stories of a bygone railway era).

After immersing ourselves in this fascinating history, we will proceed to the charming village of Colchani, located next to the majestic Salar de Uyuni. In this picturesque place, we will have the opportunity to visit local factories and witness the traditional salt production process, an activity deeply rooted in the community’s life. This will be an enriching experience that allows us to delve even further into the culture and traditions of this unique region.

We will continue our thrilling journey by venturing into the breathtaking Salar de Uyuni, a dazzling landscape stretching as far as the eye can see. We will explore the first salt mine and marvel at the impressive salt pyramids, as well as the enigmatic “salt eyes,” natural phenomena that will provide us with a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

Next, we will enjoy the view at the Flags Beach, where the landscape blends with the excitement of the Dakar Rally Monument. It will be a moment to appreciate the grandeur of this legendary event and to contemplate the natural beauty surrounding it. To recharge, we will head to the exclusive Salt Hotel, the only one permitted in the salt flats. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the various rooms, fascinating salt sculptures, and the magnificent lobby known as “White Beach.” After enjoying a delicious lunch, we will continue to Isla Incahuasi, an oasis of life amidst the salt flats, where we can admire giant cacti and rock formations that seem to emerge from a white sea. It will be a magical moment amidst this surreal landscape.

Finally, our day will culminate in the picturesque village of Colcha-K, where we will be greeted with the warmth of its friendly inhabitants. Upon arrival, you can enjoy a comforting coffee or hot chocolate, followed by a delightful dinner. This moment will be perfect for sharing experiences and preparing for the exciting adventures that await us in the days ahead.

DAY 2: CHIHUANA DESERT LOS ANDES LAGOON – SILOLI DESERT – RED LAGOON

The day will begin early, at 7:00 a.m., to embark on a day full of discoveries. Our first stop will be in the town of San Juan, where you can purchase artisanal beers and sample various varieties. Then, we will head to the charming Salar de Chiguana, located south of the majestic Salar de Uyuni. A few minutes later, we arrive at an imposing desert surrounded by an impressive chain of volcanoes, including the towering and semi-active Ollague, offering a unique panoramic view at an altitude of 5,840 meters above sea level.

Continuing south, we will reach the fascinating “Lagunas de los Andes”. We start with Laguna Cañapa, home to hundreds of flamingos dancing in its crystalline waters. Just a few meters away, we will venture into Laguna Hedionda, where we will appreciate three species of South American flamingos: the Chilean, James’s, and Andean. Additionally, this is where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.

Later on, we will encounter the enigmatic Laguna Honda, whose name means “deep lagoon”, yet it has a depth of only 10 cm—a depth that turns this lake into a true mirror, reflecting the brilliant blue of the sky and its cloudy variations. Then, we will immerse ourselves in the vast and dazzling Siloli Desert, considered the highest and driest desert in the world at 4,550 meters above sea level. Here, we will be amazed by the famous “tree-shaped rock”, a natural formation that defies the imagination.

Our journey will then take us to the breathtaking Laguna Colorada, where we will witness the surreal beauty of pink flamingos against the red-tinted waters from the viewpoint.

After a day full of emotions, we head to the charming town of Huayllajara to spend our second night. Here, in a cozy hostel, a comforting experience awaits us. We will be welcomed with a steaming cup of coffee or hot chocolate, followed by a delicious dinner, all in an atmosphere of camaraderie and comfort. After dinner, you can relax under the starry sky with a glass of wine, surrendering to the serenity of the night in this unique environment.

DAY 3: GEYSERS – SALVADOR DALI DESERT – GREEN LAGOON – WHITE LAGOON – SAN CRISTOBAL – UYUNI

This day,, we embark on an exhilarating excursion to the Geysers and Fumaroles of “Sol de Mañana”, where we will witness the impressive volcanic activity that shapes this unique landscape. As we delve into this natural wonder, we will be captivated by the spectacle of living earth, where steam and water jets emerge from the ground, creating a truly surreal scene.

After marveling at the power of nature in the geysers, we will continue our journey towards the relaxing thermal waters of Polques. Surrounded by spectacular scenery, we will have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the warm mineral waters and enjoy a revitalizing experience for the body and mind. As we indulge in the pleasure of these thermal waters, we can contemplate the grandeur of the mountain peaks and the vastness of the horizon, all while enjoying a delicious breakfast.

This day promises to be an unforgettable adventure, where we will connect with the very essence of the Earth and be enveloped by the beauty of its natural phenomena.

We will then proceed towards the enigmatic Salvador Dalí Desert, characterized by its unique rock formations that seem to come straight out of a surrealistic painting. Moving further south, we will have the opportunity to visit the stunning Green Lagoon and White Lagoon. These twin bodies of water are situated in the same spectacular environment, separated only by a narrow strip of land.

After a fascinating journey, we will head towards the welcoming community of Villa del Mar, where we will delight in an exquisite lunch, savoring the authentic flavors of the region. Later, we will visit Laguna Qatal or Black Lagoon, a fascinating oasis amidst petrified rock formations with Andean geese and hundreds of llamas in the surrounding area. Following this visit, we will head towards the picturesque community of San Cristóbal, where a historic church awaits our exploration a true architectural treasure steeped in history and tradition.

Between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., we will return to Uyuni with hearts full of unforgettable memories and the complete satisfaction of having explored and fully enjoyed the wonderful culture and stunning landscapes that this fascinating region offers.
